Daily Activities

“Angkor” means holy city and “Zen” emphases the value of meditation and aligning with our own nature.

We provide the space, and you the time, to retreat into nature and into yourself.

  • 6:30 – 7:45 AM – Yoga
  • 8 AM – Breakfast
  • 9:30 – 10:45 AM – Yoga (pranayama) and meditation
  • 12:00 Noon – Lunch ($ 8 starting on July 1st 2015 – has to be ordered before 8:30 AM) – Not included in your package.
  • 10:45 – 2:30 PM – Free Time.

You could go visit the wonderful Angkor temples (we will help you if you need a guide, information or transport), take a tour downtown Siem Reap or enjoy the peace of our garden.

  • 2:30 – 3:45 – Yoga
  • 4:00 – 4:30 PM – Tea and snack served in the restaurant
  • 4:30 – 5:30 PM – Yoga
  • 6:15 – 7:00 PM – Meditation
  • 7:30 PM – Dinner

You will be able to enjoy daily multiple activities with outside participants, teachers or monks who come and share your life for some time.

The food is all Asian style vegetarian, with a unique twist and variety. Each meal is served buffet style , with a variety of dishes, influenced by SE.Asian, Indian and Nepali cuisine, and much more.

All meals are taken together round one table.

There is a tuktuk service available to go downtown (3$/one way) and we have a fleet of bicycles available free for all guests. The old market is 3km away and it takes around 15mins to cycle there.

Also and by appointment:

* Private Yoga classes
* Traditional Khmer massage, foot massage or Aromatherapy (oil)
* Pedicure or manicure

 

 

Meditation

Every day: meditation at 6:15 PM

Regular practice of meditation transforms your way of life day after day with the help of concentration. It will guide you to find your inner peace and put you in position to manage situations with increased grace, pose and equanimity.

We  finish our days here at Angkor Zen Gardens with an hour of meditation, making our day bright and clear.

Walking meditations are wonderful here; the lush gardens provide a great location for a slow pace walk , keeping in mind all the movements of your body and mind during that time.

Smokers who cannot live without their cigarettes are asked not to do so in the restaurant, bungalows or any common areas. Gardens are big enough so you will surely find a place…!

Our peaceful retreat center will help you enjoy a deeper more spiritually beneficial experience to visiting the world’s largest religious monument – Angkor Wat. You are most welcome to participate in multiple activities with other guests. We are not as strict as some centers dedicated to Vipassana retreats (total silence, fast…etc.), however, in order to keep Angkor Zen Gardens peaceful, we ask our guests to avoid alcohol consumption and the use of any drugs while staying with us. It’s quite chilled enough already.

We are following Buddhist principles of harmlessness in our every day lives, but we do not specifically belong to any religion or any sect. Our main aim is to help you enjoy your stay by nourishing your mind, body and soul with arguably the most beautiful gardens in the area and a guide on the way along the spiritual path. We offer various techniques of meditation, yoga, massage and vegetarian food in a very unique location near one of the world’s most holy sites.

A happy place that is hard to leave and a real pleasure to return to.
